Privacy Policy

WholesaleKit ("we", "us") provides a Shopify application that helps merchants operate wholesale (B2B) sales on Shopify's native B2B features. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Merchant account data: your store domain, plan information, and app configuration (pricing tiers, reminder rules, settings).
• Wholesale application data: when a buyer applies for a wholesale account on a merchant's store, we process the business name, contact name, email, phone, business type, region, and any uploaded resale/exemption certificate — on behalf of the merchant, to power the approval workflow.
• Order workflow data: for orders with payment terms, we store order identifiers, amounts, due dates and payment status to power the net-terms dashboard and reminders.
• Usage events: anonymous feature-usage events (e.g., "tier created") to improve the product.

What we deliberately do NOT do

• We do not store your commerce data as the system of record. Companies, catalogs, price lists, orders and payment terms live in Shopify. If our database disappeared, you would lose no commerce data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
• We do not use customer personal data for advertising or model training.

Legal bases & roles

For buyer personal data processed inside a merchant's store, the merchant is the data controller and WholesaleKit is a processor acting on the merchant's instructions. For merchant account data, we are the controller.

Retention & deletion

Workflow data is retained while the app is installed. On uninstall, we honor Shopify's GDPR webhooks: shop data is deleted within 30 days of the shop redaction request; individual customer data is deleted or anonymized on customer redaction requests. You may request earlier deletion at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to the operator of the service. See our security practices summary available on request.

Subprocessors

Hosting and database infrastructure providers, and (when enabled by the merchant) an email delivery provider for payment-terms reminder emails. A current list is available on request.
